Genevieve Jay Tucker

TuckerJanuary 26, 1916 - September 2, 2011 EDMOND Genevieve R. "Jay" Tucker, 95, loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, joined Jesus and her husband, Wendell, in heaven on Friday, September 2, 2011.Jay was born on January 26, 1916 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to John R. and Maud (Anderson) Riley. She worked in northeastern Oklahoma when she met and married Wendell Tucker in 1941. After several moves they settled in Oklahoma City in 1950 and made that their home for eighteen years before moving to El Reno. Following retirement they moved to Bull Shoals, Arkansas, to make their home. After her husband's death, she moved to Edmond to be near her children and has resided in Edmond for the last twenty years. She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond.She is survived by a daughter, Mary Jayne Jackson of Hilton Head, South Carolina; four sons: John Tucker and wife Cathy of Gahanna, Ohio; Jim Tucker and companion Peggy Coe of Macomb, Oklahoma; Rick Tucker of Ft. Worth, Texas; and Mike Tucker and wife Lou of Edmond, Oklahoma; a sister, Mary Benton; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.She was also preceded in death by her parents; her husband of forty-eight years, Wendell; five sisters, Helen Dinsmore, Marion Lillie, Kay Cuenod, Jackie Finn and Edith Bryant; and two brothers, John and Matt Riley.Funeral mass is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 9th, at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond, with Father Balaswamy Konka officiating. Burial will follow in the Resurrection Memorial Cemetery in Oklahoma City.The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in her honor to the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, c/o Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 120 W.
