Joy Arndt (Rowe)

                JOY ARNDT ROWE

                                  July 4, 1944 -- April 6, 2022

Joy was born in Oak Park, Illinois and is the oldest of 7 children. She was enthusiastic about education and earned a B.A. degree in English from the University of Oklahoma. She started her long career in the insurance industry at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Chicago. Joy tired of the cold, harsh, windy winters in Chicago and received a job transfer to San Diego where her beloved grandmother and other relatives lived. She settled into life and decided to move her employment to Pacific Mutual and became a claims supervisor.

Joy married Stan Rowe in 1977 and they were soon blessed with the birth of their daughter Meredith Rowe. They were further blessed when their son arrived, Kevin Rowe.

Joy's faith was an important part of her life and she became a lifelong member of St. Therese Parish where she took a job teaching computer technology at the church school for 15 years. She was a constant volunteer at the church as a lector at many services.

Joy loved and lived for the family and was immensely proud of their accomplishments, particularly when Kevin became an Eagle Scout. Her two grandsons, Logan 8, Carson 6, were her pride and joy and often flew to Colorado to visit them.

Her hobbies included gardening and following the Padres and Chargers as well as OU football. Joy was a ray of sunshine everywhere she went. She brightened everyone's life with her laugh and smile. She was the embodiment of "pure joy" and will be missed by the many lives she touched.

Joy is survived by her husband, Stan, daughter Meredith, son Kevin, grandsons Logan and Carson and six siblings
